Carla Hinson
As Director of Development Advisory, Carla manages development projects for real estate and financial advisory clients. In this role she provides additional capacity primarily to non-profit organizations to help execute their development vision. She supports projects by securing and managing public and private grants, assembling complex tax credit financing, and coordinating real estate due diligence, entitlements, design, and construction. Cross Street Partners’ current advisory projects represent over 100K SF of new construction and historic renovation and $90MM in investment in Maryland and Delaware.
Carla’s successes include assembling the financing for the $14MM redevelopment of the Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center at PS 103 which was delivered in 2023 and the $16MM Upton Mansion project which is currently under construction. In addition to her role leading advisory projects, Carla also supports Cross Street Partners’ affiliate, UACD, to deploy New Markets Tax Credits allocation in development projects nationwide.
Before joining Cross Street Partners, Carla worked at St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center and completed a Fulbright in Brazil. Carla has a Bachelor of Arts from Susquehanna University and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University. Carla is a CREW Baltimore member and lives in the Abell neighborhood of Baltimore.
