Cobber Eccles

A pioneer in the construction field, Cobber Eccles was a founder and partner in charge of construction for Struever Brothers Eccles and Rouse, Inc. During the early years, Cobber acted directly as project manager on all commercial and residential projects and as the company grew he continued to act as project executive on selected projects.

For over 40 years, Cobber has led the charge on a wide variety of projects ranging from historic renovations, adaptive reuse, as well as new construction. Working with the not-for-profit world, both in education and human services theme is where Cobber’s strength in conceptual estimating helped bridge the time gap between gratis early design ideas and the much later point when architectural designs were articulated. The flexibility to adjust to changing budgets and client timelines proved key. Experience in working in multiple construction formats: design/build, general contracting, construction management positioned him well for the owner’s representative role that implicitly or explicitly accompanies good work in this sector.
